Gorillaz has climbed to the top of the U.K.'s Official Albums Chart with their new record, The Mountain.
Damon Albarn's virtual band now has a total of three #1 albums across the pond, with The Mountain joining 2005's Demon Days and 2023's Cracker Island.
"Mortal friends, Murdoc F. Niccals here, speaking to you from on high, the top of the world, the summit of achievement!" reads a quote from Gorillaz's cartoon bassist. "I've only gone and done it again, haven't I? Number 1! Could have gone further… was hoping for a 0, but 1 will do."
Murdoc continues, "To all my devoted er… devotees, you have shown impeccable taste as ever. It takes a lot to make a Mountain, so all I can say is… I couldn't have done it without me. Cheers!"
You can catch Gorillaz make their debut on Saturday Night Live on March 7. They'll launch a U.S. tour in September.
