Man Picks up Over 24,000 Cigarette Butts in 2023 and Turns It Into a Big Donation

One year ago, a guy in New Jersey named Jim Alturo decided he'd help clean up his town by walking around and picking up cigarette butts people tossed on the ground . . . and he ended up with over 24,000 of them.

The exact count was 24,185.  And for each one, he decided to donate a penny to the American Lung Association.  So that's $241.85.  He says he knows it's not a significant amount of money, but "every penny helps."
